John Garrett Memorial Lecture - Must the poor always be with us

This year's John Garrett Memorial Lecture, co-hosted by the Norwich Labour Party, is the ninth annual lecture commemorating the Norwich South MP, who died in 2007.

Baroness Hollis of Heigham will be the guest speaker at this years memorial lecture. A specialist in women’s history and local council veteran, she is particularly interested in local government, heritage, pensions, women’s issues and housing. In this lecture, Baroness Hollis will explore the range of policies geared towards alleviating poverty, including controversies surrounding social security and universal credit.

Entrance is by the side off Bethel Street, doors open at 7pm.
