Climate Change Question Time - with Norwich Politicians

20 October 2018 - 10:30

In the wake of the destruction and loss of life we are seeing around the world through storms, hurricanes and tsunamis, Christian Aid is organising a morning about climate change on Saturday October 20 with local politicians.

A ‘Question Time’ event about climate change will be held with Clive Lewis MP, Cllr. Stefan Aquerone (LibDem), Dr.Rupert Read (Green Party) and Canon Andy Bryant (Norwich Cathedral). The Conservative Party were invited to send a representative.

This will follow a workshop with Luke Harman, the Manager of Christian Aid Church Campaigns Team. Luke will explain about the tools we can use to campaign effectively to influence and challenge both the Government and multi-national corporations.

Julian Bryant, Norfolk’s Christian Aid’s Regional Coordinator said, ’From Genesis and throughout the Bible we can see that creation is special and we have a command to take care of the earth. In different ways humanity has have failed to do this which has often caused suffering to those who have least. This is an opportunity to see how we can address some of the causes of poverty and learn how to challenge those in power. Sometimes it seems we have lost the prophetic voice in relation to justice. This event will give us an opportunity to learn and to act. ‘Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.’
