Evolution of International Treaties ...

Tuesday 19th November 2019 - 18:30

The evolution of international treaties for the protection of foreign investment.
Prof Tarcisio Gazzini (School of Law)
More than 3,000 investment treaties offer legal protection to foreign investors. They have been widely criticised due to their manifestly unbalanced content as well as a perceived lack of legitimacy. Recently, however, several states and international organisations have reconsidered these treaties and attempted to strike a better balance between the private and public interests of the different stakeholders.
Join Prof Tarcisio Gazzini (School of Law) as he examines and assesses these developments.
Inaugural lectures recognise and celebrate the promotion of UEA academics to the position of professor, whilst giving audiences the chance to hear about their research and its impact on society.
These lectures are free and open to all, and there's no need to book; simply turn up on the night,
or watch live via YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqRzc4Y4pbu4f7ZVwq4ODww/live ).
Each lecture is followed by a free drinks reception, with a chance to meet the speaker and ask them questions about their research.
