Our future in energy: a return to remote islands
Prof Konstantinos Chalvatzis
Energy defines so much of our daily lives and yet we have taken it for granted for decades. Now energy systems are undergoing a rapid transformation driven by mainstreaming environmental concerns, changes in perceived resource endowment, technological innovation and production scaling-up. But can we steer away from polluting fossil fuels and secure our sustainable energy supply affordably? Join Prof Chalvatzis in a journey through energy nodes where renewable portfolios blend with energy storage in a new, all-electric world.

Inaugural lectures recognise and celebrate the promotion of UEA academics to the position of professor, whilst giving audiences the chance to hear about their research and its impact on society. These lectures are free and open to all, and there's no need to book; simply turn up on the night, or watch live via YouTube. Each lecture is followed by a free drinks reception, with a chance to meet the speaker and ask them questions about their research.
