Influence and Change!
Science4Society Week 2021 competition

What environmental issues are you passionate about?
-This could be to do with unnecessary waste, excessive energy or resource use, burning fossil fuels, the amount and type of packaging, biodiversity loss, air pollution from planes or cars...
-It could be a local issue –in your school, town or a local organisation; or a national issue...
Could you write a letter to bring it to the attention of someone who could make a difference or an organisation?
-Decide the issue you want to influence
-Decide to whom you could write! Examples include
-Writing to your school caterers to ask for more plant-based options on the menu, or with your ideas to reduce food waste or waste to landfill
-Writing to a supermarket to ask what they are doing to reduce their single use packaging (even if it can be recycled!)
-Writing to a confectionery manufacturer to suggest a different sort of wrapper that could be composted.

The winning entry will
•Receive a certificate
•Be published on the S4S website
•Receive a copy of ‘No-one is too small to make a difference’ by Greta Thunberg
Age categories:7-11, 12-14, 15-18.

Work must be original and created by the student(s)
All entries must include the following information
entrant name,age and age category
school/club/youth group name and address
